Perpetual support policy: only v14 and v13 receive updates
- Per Foxit's announcement, from August 5, 2025 perpetual licenses follow an N/N-1 model: the current major version (N) and the previous one (N-1) receive security patches, feature updates and technical support.
- Today N is Foxit PDF Editor 14 and N-1 is Foxit PDF Editor 13.
- Versions 12 and older keep working but no longer receive security updates, new features or technical support.
- Foxit expects a new perpetual version roughly every 2–2.5 years, giving a new purchase a typical 4–5 year support window.
Why buy the latest v14?
Still patched
v12 and older stopped receiving security fixes on August 5, 2025.
Longest support window
When the next perpetual version ships, v14 becomes N-1 and stays supported.
Avoid old keys
Cheaper perpetual offers may be v12 or v11, already outside security support. Always ask for the version number.
